Meet Amanda Merrill, a spunky 7-year old and 2010 Children’s Miracle Network Champion who has survived a rare bone cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma. Diagnosed at age 2, Amanda lost her left leg to this aggressive disease but was fitted with a J-leg – the kind of prosthetic device worn by paralympic athletes.
Amanda, currently in remission, loves to sing, dance and run, noting that her J-leg allows her to “run really fast and bounce like Tigger.”
Your work, your efforts, your contribution to our cause make stories like Amanda’s possible, at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where Amanda is treated, and at more than 170 other Children’s Hospitals across North America.
